EAST LANSING, Mich. — (SCENE) Metrospace presents an evening of music featuring the best of local and regional folk music Saturday, February 17 at 7:30 PM. Doors open at 6:30. Ann Arbor-based duo Breathe Owl Breathe bring a sense of experimentalism into their sound, drawing on musical genres as diverse as indie rock and classical music. Lansing-based Head And Toe blends folk and singer-songwriter influences into a tasty stew. Ferndale-based Beilby's Ball combines literate songwriting with traditional instrumentation, and Lansing area favorites The Two Hearted String Band will start off the evening with an infectious brew of old-time and bluegrass tune-smithery. This will be the final musical performance at (SCENE)'s long-time home, 303 Abbott. The gallery will move to its new location during the month of March. This event is all ages, smoke- and alcohol-free, and open to the public. There is a $5 admission for the event at the door, and additional donations are encouraged. Space is limited. |
